IT’S A WRAP!,
GO GREEN. RECYCLE A CELEBRITY

It's A Wrap!, Go Green

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle…Repeat!

If you didn’t hear these words more then a few dozen times last year, then you must be living under a rock!

As we pack all the holiday decor away, many of us use this opportunity to purge the house of items we tend to hold onto. I feel like I’m always buying some sort of magazine and holding onto it for far to long.  Especially when the school parents come out of the wood work to peddle over priced cookie dough and tchotchkes (chachkis) for their child’s school. US Weekly, Real Simple, and Martha are my go to saving grace purchases at the back of the catalog.

Helping the kids = my organizational and gossip fix.

Now before any of you say,  Kellie how can you throw away those treasured journals of pop culture?

Well, as I was getting ready to heave ho my treasured journals into the trash I pulled out my sewing machine to create a few sheets of fun roll wrap.

This should surely be gossiped about! : ) Hope you have fun with this weeks “It’s A Wrap!”

Here’s the list of supplies you’ll need in addition to this downloadable PDF

Supplies Needed:

  1. diy project PDF
  2. cutting mat
  3. ruler
  4. x-acto knife
  5. ribbon
  6. gossip magazines
  7. sewing machine

Product Suggestions:

Directions:

  1. Gather supplies needed
  2. Cut spines completely off
  3. Sew 2 sheets together vertically
  4. Fold seam allowance to lay flat. (Repeat twice for a total of 3 sets of 2 sheets sewn together)
  5. Once you have 3 sets of 2 sheets sewn together, sew each set together to create a six panel strip
  6. With seam allowance facing outwards use binder clips to ensure seams line up and secure each six panel strip together
  7. Sew each six panel strip together to create a 2×12 sheet gift wrap panel

Special Note:

  1. Adjust your sewing machine’s tension and stitch length to what works best for you.
  2. Two panels worked best for me. Three began to buckle in the middle for me.

Ta-Da! There you have it! Your very own “Go Green. Recycle A Celebrity.” themed roll wrap for your next fun gift giving event!

Here is what your final project will look like.
